How did 2020 change the way you operate?

What technology trends do you think will take hold this year? Artificial intelligence, chatbots, data visualizations, low code, and robotic process automation will continue to dominate this space. We really need to take hold of the opportunities that emerging technology can provide and think about how we can become even better catalysts for change.

Work-life balance for our employees was always important to me, but 2020 certainly brought that issue to the forefront. It is clear, now more than ever, that we have to support our employees with mental health resources, reasonable workload expectations, and frequent communication to enable them to navigate the new landscape of remote and in-person work and learning. We have become much more flexible with our ability to communicate and with how we get work done. We were pushed outside of our comfort zone in 2020, and it has forced us to explore more remote and asynchronous ways of working and collaborating. I believe this is an exciting opportunity that allows us to create more flexible work options for our employees and attract new hires from anywhere, thereby increasing our ability to recruit and retain a diverse employee base.

Ben Davis Cambria | EVP & CDO

What are your top priorities for 2021? Our top priority is making the right, clean data as available as water. We plan to automate tasks that are too expensive or mundane to have people complete. We are always working to improve our cybersecurity preparedness and standing, as well.

Mike McGuire Delta Dental of MN & Abova Technologies | COO, CTO & President

How did 2020 change the way you operate? In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, our organization, like many, transitioned from 100% in-office team members to 100% remote team members. This transition from a “physical” to a “virtual” work culture changed many aspects of how we communicate and transact business, and created a deeper and broader reliance on our technology infrastructure and capabilities. I don’t think that there has ever been a time when strong technology leadership was needed more, and we all rose to the challenge.

Eduardo Valencia MAC | VP & CIO

What challenges do you hope to solve this year?

We hope to continue to find ways to make the travel experience as seamless as possible, working towards air travel recovery while building traveler confidence.
